HOW TO REMOVE AND TREAT CALCIUM DEPOSITS IN POOLS

Calcium deposits in a swimming pool are unsightly, can appear in different forms, and can be dangerous. They are rough and abrasive to the touch, and have been known to cut into bare feet.

Calcium deposits can appear as scale 'plating', or they can form and present as raised nodules, (like stalagmites), or as a simple, dirty-looking, waterline tide mark. In extreme cases, calcium deposits can appear as hard, shell-like, plates that cover even a whole wall of the swimming pool.

Usually white to grey in colour, these deposits can be present on the floors, walls, and tile lines. Sometimes they appear as worm-like lines on the surface of concrete, pebblecrete, or plaster, pools.
